Happy Mother's Day!

And, what a marvelous Mother's Day it was!

For me, it started on Friday morning when we hit the road for Asheville.

Todd reserved a suite at the Grand Bohemian Hotel.

It was beautiful!

The jacuzzi tub in the bathroom had shutters that opened up to the bedroom. And, yes I enjoyed it...twice!

It had a floor mirror perfect for occupying little babies...

and separate sleeping quarters perfect for mommies and daddies!

We enjoyed our suite so much that we decided to have breakfast in bed both mornings!

Todd really liked this marble statue...

and this Starbucks right across the street even more (no surprise to those of you who know him well).

Loved this wild boar donning a hat in the lobby!

As always, downtown Asheville was alive with energy. These locals were dancing to the beat of bongo drums.

We spent Saturday at the Biltmore Estate...

relaxing

and leisurely exploring.

We strolled through the botanical gardens.

So pretty!

Especially the peonies...they're my favorite!

It was a beautiful day!

Then, on Mother's Day we ate lunch at this lovely little restaurant, Bistro 1896.

I indulged and had a delicious Bloody Mary!

Frances enjoyed the celery stalk.

I had SUCH a great time with these two!

I came back home to find these on my doorstep!

Probably the most beautiful bouquet I've ever seen with all of my favorites...lilies,

sunflowers,

and peonies!

The sweetest card was attached.

And, just when I thought my first Mother's Day couldn't have been better...

I received this little treat from the woman who started it all...

MOM

I hope that all deserving mothers out there (especially mine) had as wonderful of a Mother's Day as me!
