BLUEBERRY PICKING

Last spring, Frances started attending a new school, Keystone Montessori. Right away we felt a strong sense of community with the teachers and other families there.
This past Friday, several of the Keystone families went on an outing to pick blueberries at Campbell Blueberry Farm. There were hundreds of bushes full of organic, ready to be picked blueberries.
It was $10 per bucketful of blueberries and sampling along the way was encouraged!
Our next stop was Dan Nicholas Park in Salisbury. After living in Charlotte for eight years, I couldn’t believe I had never even heard of this place before! To call it a “park” is somewhat misleading. There were train rides, a petting zoo, spray grounds, gem mines, and the list goes on!
They had a restored antique carousel that was one of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen and it only cost a dollar to ride!
We had a pretty limited amount of time to spend there that day. But, the kids had so much fun and I have it on my list of things we MUST do ASAP as a family.
